Defence of Portsmouth
The defenders started off quite well. The regulars made big dents into the attacking German force. The home guard even defeated German regulars as they tried to storm the local pub. However, the arrival of a Panzer II, and both the anti tank rifle squad and the 25pdr both missing, meant that from then on the British would be on the back foot. Both home guard units fell and gradually each British unit fell to a German assault. A German victory at last.
